SEMESTER - 4

One more semester has come to an end and we are halfway in between the course, many of us (including me) use to talk about leaving the course in between, but now it seems nobody is going to leave.

We are a big drama party, we fight with each other, we love each other and most importantly we even miss our foes, life is hell if we don't talk S#!T about our so called competitors. This is the way life goes at NIFT, nobody is untouched with these (un)ethical values, the college life has taught us.

Spectrum: This semester had our scheduled annual college function, SPECTRUM, Don't know why it is called Spectrum, but a wild guess could be because of the use of bucketful of all the seven colors in whatever way possible to paint the Campus.

Nobody was much interested except the 2 secretaries from our class, everybody has lost the enthusiasm they had in 1st year, even though a few of us were a part of online gaming event, a flow show it was, nobody damn cares about playing games here, it was next to unbelievable how could the participation be so much small.

We hoped that the big music show event goes well to be performed by "Parikrama", and indeed it was a hit when compared to the other events, the crowd really enjoyed it, but there were a few to bitch, i have an advise for them, if you don't like it, don't come and participate.

The more interesting part of this Spectrum was PSP or the Post Spectrum Party, i regret my decision of not attending it after i came to know about the happenings of the party, it ignited sparks between people and some ended up doing nasty jobs.

ASSQC Swatch Collection Assignment: The assignment got rescheduled because of spectrum, the group activity that required groups to make a swatch file of defective fabric samples.

The assignment taught me one thing for sure, there are no defective materials with any shopkeeper, so never ever go to a shopkeeper asking for some defective samples or materials or otherwise he would yell on you,
"Bhaisaheb hum defective maal nahi bechate hain."

In this process of exploring textile market, our group met a shopkeeper, who referred himself to be a fashion designer as well as merchandiser from NIFT, Bandra. Only that day i got to know that NIFT has setup one new centre in Bombay at Bandra (Pun intended). The assignment taught us techniques to create defects in fabric that looks like in-line production defects.

Valentine Semester Squared/Quadrupled: The class saw changing relationship status of their friends on Facebook on subsequent days and now the singles are minorities group.

A heap of likes and comments followed these posts and i learnt a lesson that if there exists a thing that could bring the maximum attention on a social network, it is certainly change in "Relationship status".

Abhilasha, The Social Initiative: Yasmin Kakar's and Niyati Rai's Brainchild, a social initiative
to bring together the underprivilged in this society.

This dream reached to fruitation this semester, most of us were a part of it, organizing meetings between the Old Age People at Old Age Home and the Children at Orphanage was successfully executed. It brought smile in lives of those people. I feel Proud to be a part of Project "Abhilasha" and on the behalf of group is thankful to everybody who helped the cause in any possible way.

VB.NET End-Semester Jury: It was the most memorable project/assignment for me in these 2 years. At one point of time during the course of developing "Windows Application", i felt i have to go through the Re-exam in this Subject.

The whole class was Clueless during the Windows Application Development, Nobody have had an idea to write a single line of code himself/herself.

At least my group ( Me, Jatin, Pankaj and Pavan) would never ever forget it, we started developing the project at 12 O'Clock, 1 hour before the jury starts, the Application running on the computer screen was 'Chelsea Football Team Management System' at 3:30.

A result of Wit, Humor, Luck, Intelligence and Jugaad, it ran superbly in front of Jury members and only we know what we have done and this way the semester came to a fruitful End !!!!!!!!!
